2005
European Champions Liverpool Football Club helped the official
Launch of the Khalsa Academy Project. The latest event of the
Khalsa Football project took place at The Bunyan Centre Bedford
where community coaches from the 2005 European Champions Liverpool
Football Club delivered coaching sessions. There were four
age groups including under 9's, under 12's, under 13's and
under 15's. Every benfited from the coaching session not only
the players but the Coaches as well. Who better to have the
launch than coaches from the current European Champions. The
Academy welcomes members from all community groups to participate
in Khalsa Football Projects and are not exclusively open to
students from an Asian/Ethnic heritage.

The
Khalsa Football In The Community project will provide a platform
for tackling key issues facing Asian Football communities
including racism, social exclusion, education and the under-representation
of Asians in the game from players and sports coaches and
Managers. Altough the project encourages more Asians to participate
in Football members of all different community backgrounds
are welcome. The prime reason of the project is to produce
greater understanding between players of different nationalities,
race, colour and creed.
